Stop the e-mail notifications from updaing the items update section

Hello,

I would like to stop the e-mail notifications from being added as an update to an item. The items update view should be used only for updates by the users. With the e-mail notificaitons, added to the update section of an item, it becomes very busy and for ouru users the e-mail notification does not make sense there.

Is this possible?
Thank you.

Hi Tsvetomir,

You can manage your e-mail notifications from your profile section. When you click on your avatar in the top right corner you can select the notifications you want to receive and how  Hope that helps!

Hi. This is clear. I am asking about the notification history on the item itself. It automatically adds the body of the notification e-mail to the item update section.

Hi, was there ever a solution for this? Or is it built in that when an email is sent from automation/integration that it posts to updates automatically?

Hey @Tsvetomir and @andyoungy !

At the moment, those notification emails being logged as updates on the item can’t be turned off.

When an automation or notification sends an email related to an item, monday.com often records it in the item’s updates section as part of the activity history. This is built into how the system tracks actions tied to that item, so there isn’t a setting to disable it separately from the notification itself.

A few teams work around this by adjusting how notifications are sent. For example, using internal notifications instead of email where possible, or limiting the number of automations that send emails tied directly to items.

If keeping the updates section clean is important for your workflow, it may also be worth sharing the use case with monday’s support or product team. They’re usually the right place to log feature requests around how activity is recorded on items.
