Hello,

I am putting together a board to compare forecast volume vs actual shipping quantities. My vision is that each item will represent a product, and the columns will contain relevant information- most importantly the week’s total forecast vs actual.

I would like to have seven subitems per item, each one representing a day of the week. This will contain each day’s breakdown of forecast vs shipped volume.

My question is: is it possible to have a formula in the item line which calculates the sum of subitem values?

For instance, say we forecast 2 shipments on Tuesday, 3 on Wednesday, and 5 on Friday. Can a Sum formula in the main item line show we forecast 10 shipments based on the subitems below? Same question for actuals. Then I’d like another formula that shows the difference between forecast and actuals.

Any input is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi @KyleD - what you can do is Summarize the Subitem Column on the parent item, this will show a sum of all shipments for that specific item. Just click on the column settings (three dots) then Settings > Show Summary on Parent Item:
