Timeline Column Not Showing Battery

I created a board and the timeline column is supposed to have a battery by default.

However the timeline column on my board does not have a battery, it’s just grey.

Anyone knows how to activate it?

Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:

hi @UniceTanAlchemy

The timeline shows the (in two colors) the period that has passed and the period yet to come. If the complete timeline is in the future you will just see one color. In this case… wait and see how it looks at April 24th

Hi @basdebruin thank you for the advice! i tried to set it to 17 - 19 April just to test out your theory and it works! it’s in red if the time period enters the timeline.

I was wondering how to get it to have a green battery leading up to the timeline eg. if my event is from 23 - 26 April, from now till the start of the green battery it will slowly fill the timeline space with green.

Thank you!

Hi @UniceTanAlchemy ,

The color of the bar is actually determined by the color of the group it is in. So if your group is red, the color will be red, if your group is blue, the color will be blue.

Have you checked out “deadline mode” - Maybe this is something that could help get the colors to match what you are looking for.
Deadline Mode – Support.
The monday documentation will be able to explain it better than me, so I’ve linked that above.

Hope this helps!

My issue fixed when I read this and apply method.

Causes and Solutions:

  1. No Dates Assigned:
  • The “battery” in a timeline column typically reflects the duration between start and end dates. If dates are not assigned to tasks or items in the column, it will remain grey.
  • Solution: Assign start and end dates to the items in the timeline column. Once dates are added, the battery should appear automatically.
  1. Incorrect Configuration:
  • The timeline column might not be properly configured to display the battery.
  • Solution: Check the column settings. Ensure it’s set up to display the timeline properly, and that any necessary configurations (such as timeline range) are in place.
  1. Software Bug or Glitch:
  • Sometimes, issues like this occur due to a software bug or version-specific glitch.
  • Solution: Update the software to the latest version, as updates often include bug fixes. If you’re already on the latest version, try refreshing or restarting your board.
  1. Theme or Customization Conflict:
  • Custom themes or UI modifications might interfere with the visual display of the battery.
  • Solution: Revert to default settings or themes to ensure no conflicts are causing the issue.
  1. Compatibility Issues:
  • If you’re accessing the board on a mobile device or an outdated browser, it could affect how elements like the battery are displayed.
  • Solution: Access the board using a supported browser or device to verify if it works properly.
