A date filter was recently added to the Archived Items view. This makes it so if I need to see an archived item I either have to know approximately when it was archived or scroll through the date in “Showing archive from” on the top right. Showing what was archived only for a particular month is not helpful to me. It would be nice to be able to turn this off or search all dates.
I’m perplexed by this feature change. The entire point of an archive is that it is where you put a big pile of all of your old stuff. Without any kind of index of when you put things in there the only thing this could do is make it impossible to find anything you archived. Perhaps it would be useful to make it possible for users to narrow the time window but making it impossible to expand it makes the entire archive much harder to use. Please make it possible to turn it off!
I’m glad someone else feels the same way about this. I can look up in a different program approximately when some thing is archived and then I can eventually find it. But it is MUCH more difficult.
I REALLY hope this gets more visibility. I spoke with customer service about this yesterday and they basically told me, sorry you are out of luck.
We are a decorated apparel business and frequently restore archived jobs when customers request repeat orders. Sometimes its a reorder of a job from 2 years ago and having to remember exactly what month we entered it is completely inefficient. It has taken us upwards of 20 minutes to find jobs to restore them. If they don’t give us an option to turn this off, we will be finding a new production system.
