I am using a monday board as a ticketing system. I created an automation so that any time someone updates an Item, the automation will send me a notification to let me know that a change was made to the item. unfortunately I am receiving notifications for EVERYTHING, not just updates. when an item is created, I receive an update notification, If I change the status of an Item, i receive a notification, etc. What am I doing wrong? I created the automation from scratch because I couldn’t find one to match my needs.

Or alternatively you could also use the people column (named Supervisor here) :
If this also notifies you for example when a status is changed, it should not work like that unless there are additional automations or it is bugged.
Alternatively, I would strongly suggest using People columns, as via with the following feature you can get notified for updates to items you are subscribed to without creating additional automations.
