View Permission for Updates

Hi, we would love to have the ability to create individualized view permissions for our updates. For example when a user is creating an update, they could restrict view permission to a team, individual or board owners only. This would allow sensitive information to track with a project as it progresses through the workflow without publishing that information to all users of the board. For example, notes from our estimating team regarding cost analysis are not relevant to our field team users, but are relevant to our production managers. The ability to restrict view permissions for each individual update would make multi-level personnel use of the same board much more manageable. Thank you!

Any Updates on this from the monday-Team?
This could be extremely useful for when you have guest-users (i.e. freelancers) working with you. This way sensitive information could remain hidden and the guest could only see what they are supposed to.
It would be especially great if it could be adjusted by the monday-admin which users can look at updates in general on any given element, or even an entire Board, and which users can’t.

This would be great to have, especially if we want to provide status to clients/guests without them seeing internal conversations. We notate each line item with ongoing notes for licensing management and the client doesn’t care about the day-to-day notes, they just want to be looped in when we have a question they need to answer. When they login now, they see all comments, but if they could only see the ones we set to having guests & the team view, that would be great.

We would wish to have an option to give a Update/Comment on a Task the option to be only viewable by full members and not by guests. This would help us on the communication between clients and agency on the same ticket.

We also need the ability to set various permissions for a single board so that different types of users have different types of access. For example, we need our members from our team to be able to view everything in all boards and edit the board’s content without changing its structure. While on the other hand, we need our viewers to be only able to view items assigned to them in any column in a specific board.
Within our immediate team it is important that we have full access to our group’s boards to optimize collaboration. However our teams work closely with other departments on specific projects, and we want those other departments to be able to view the project’s progress and actions without having access to our full portfolio within a board.
Is there any update from Monday.com as to whether this feature is being considered?

Really surprised this doesn’t have more votes. Maybe there’s a similar feature request somewhere else?

Anyone using Monday for client services has to feel the pain of having no good way to talk internally about an item. We’ve tried the mirror column, connected boards, hidden columns, and none of it solves this particular use case well.

Having a permission setting on updates makes a lot of sense, and would impact many Monday.com use cases. This feature would be a game changer for us.

I created a similar feature request for this before I found this one. We also need this for our company! I can’t believe this hasn’t been implemented or at least requested elsewhere.

Please revisit this feature request. Our account is shared with our entire company and it would be helpful to be able to limit permissions on updates.
