Working with Column Totals

Hi All,

I need help when it comes to working with column totals
I have a monthly job register board that we use for our incoming jobs. One column adds the “Gross Sale” and another adds the “Gross Profit”.
I would like to divide the total of the “Gross Profit” column by the total of the “Gross Sale” column to get a percentage of Gross Margin. I cant find a way to do it
Has anyone been able to work with column totals? If so please help.

Thanks in advance.

Can’t be done yet. I’ve been waiting for this feature for over a year!

Currently we need to export the data and do the calculation in Excel.

That’s disappointing, thanks anyway.

It seems a very simple calculation so fingers crossed the team at Monday.com will be able to achieve this soon.

What happened? Im also trying to connect a column total from another board to main board and no luck…

Hey @wezzo and @Brad, I’m afraid this isn’t possible at the moment. What would you think of using the formula column to do this division, and then seeing the total of the formula column? This would be the formula:

{Gross Profit}/{Gross Sale}

The Pivot Board is another useful tool in situations like these, but I do want to note that it is only available on the Enterprise plan.

I simply want to take a total from a column in board A (sales) and connect it to a block in a column in board B (Commissions).

This way when the total amount in total cost or sale or total sales revenue Sales Board goes up the Commission Board will automatically adjust too.

This is very simple and can be done in excel or numbers when you connect blocks between work sheets.

Seems to be no easy way to do this in Monday.com
