It would be really useful to be able to setup a workspace with various boards/docs and then be able to create a new workspace off the back of it. We have a default setup we use for clients and this would be mega useful.
Hi @tcmarimosa - this is actually possible via building a custom app in monday. Your app can be a workspace template that contains a series of objects (boards, docs, dashboards, etc.). Check out the link below to learn more.
Hope this helps!
Thanks,
Mark
Agree with Tom, the link send doesn’t detail how to add boards, or docs to the Workspace Template.
Was it ever found how to add boards and docs? or use the app in a workspace to auto generate those items?
I would also like to know how to create workspace templates.
It’s a lot of work of duplicating all boards every time.
I have checked the apps building, but some more guidance would be nice.
Click on your Name Icon on the top right. under “account” listing you will see </> Developers.
Click that on and it will take you into the app development Center. From there you can follow the instructions from that link above.
You can “publish” the app and keep it private within your account. You do not have to release it to the Public Monday.com app store.
We used this for a client and have the following feedback to improve this feature:
- It doesn’t copy over the folder structure. Add support so that the folder structure is retained in the destination account.
- The templates in the source workspace are also not copied correctly at the moment.
