I need the ability to add a non-Monday user as an assigned Owner to a task in Monday boards. This is strictly for reporting purposes. I need to be able to see how many of each outstanding item across our boards are assigned to specific users - both internal and external. I don’t need (or want) the external user to log in to see or interact with the board. For security purposes, only internal users need to see the board. However, I still need to accurately track who is assigned to what, preferably without having to create a separate Text column for the external users.
I can’t believe more people haven’t asked for this! Every online project managment tool is missing this fundamental capability, insisting everyone must be a “user”. For example to manage a property renovation there would be several external contractors to assign tasks to with no interest in creating an account.
Inviting people with nonsense email addresses that will never sign up is not good enough, it’s too clunky. @puck4007 this will work for you in the meantime though - invite a user with some nonsense email like “first.last@ext.com”, then go into “Teams” (under top-right menu), click on the user and you can change the display name, etc.
