It would be great to be able to attach .msg files. This would allow me to attach outlook emails as files to the item for easier tracking and organization. We’re trying to move communication over to Monday.com completely. Of course, customers email us directly and there are cases where the source of the email is not someone subscribed. It would be very helpful to be able to keep all correspondence in one place for reference.
It is possible to put a .msg to files under update
Yes, but you can’t open it in the native Monday environment. You have to download it, then open it. It’s a pain. Would be great to be able to open this for the reasons ATTBQ mentioned.
As there been any movement on this enhancement? We have the exact same use case and would love to be able to review .msg files directly inside the Monday.com Viewer.
We use .msg files a lot, so we are wanting the same functionality.
Better still, if you are operating from a (Windows) PC, it would be great if the viewer was bypassed, and the default/native application (used to create the .msg file in the first place, such as Outlook) was used to open the file …… and this extends to all file types (not just .msg files).
If a particular uploaded file (that is not supported by the viewer) is clicked, a blank viewer window is displayed (which takes up a fair chunk of screen space and cannot be resized), and as Curtis mentioned, you have to download the file, locate the file and open it …… then later, close the blank viewer window.
Because we access uploaded files/attachments continually, this functionality would save us heaps of time.
Completely agree!
We also have the same need. In our case, we like to keep .msg answers attached in the update section for future reference with a small comment from our team to resume the message. We used to keep important emails in the folder of the project, but replies to the same email thread would get confusing to keep organized. Keeping them in Monday attached to a project is much more efficient.
The workflow right now to access these emails is tedious (clicking on the attached .msg, downloading it somewhere, finding it and then opening it). Having the ability to preview it directly on Monday (like PDFs or JPGs) or open it directly with our main email app (in our case, Outlook) would save a lot of time.
Completely agree.
I faced the same issue and the possibility to view .msg files directly on monday.com would be extremely appreciated.
Even a potential workaround would be appreciated as well.
thanks
