Does BCC functionality only work if you send emails from within Monday.com app?

Hello,

When using the BCC email functionality to track outgoing emails, will this only work if you send the email from within Monday.com itself - or will it also work if you send the email from your email provider (in my case Gmail)

I have just tried the latter and the correspondence isn’t appearing attached to the contact as I expected - is there a time lag before it works or will it only work if I send the email from within Monday itself?

Thanks in advance!

Way too late for this question to provide some information, but others might also find this interesting.
We have the same issue, we cannot connect our Email to Monday.com as it is a security risk and we are dealing with confidential data and defense companies. We simply cannot allow other tools to connect to our emails and scan them etc.
Due to that, we want to use the Bcc to protocol those emails we find suitable for the CRM but not all of them or have the emails being scanned and connected to some other cloud tool.

Unfortunately it does not seem to be possible to use the Bcc simply from the email program of your choice and the communication gets protocolled with the contact you are writing to. Which is in my view simply a software issue as there is a dedicated email address for the Bcc specifically to your organization and if the contact with the email you are sendint it to, already exists, simply attach the communication. It should also be possible to simply create a new contact if the email does not exist so you can later fill out more detail for that contact. But this does not seem to be of interest to Monday.com.
We tested other CRM and pretty much all the usual suspects support that functionality.

Monday.com told me that there is the Monday Service product which has a dedicated email that then gets tracked, but so does Monday CRM, it just doesn’t get tracked. :person_shrugging:
