Files uploaded to Updates Bubble - To Files column

Is there a way to have Files that are updated through the Updates Bubble drop into a Files column? AI isn’t an option because I do not have the budget to pay for it if we go over 500 actions.
Thank you!

I’m not understanding what you mean by ‘through the updates bubble’, can you screenshot?

Hi Desiree

You can attach files in the updates. I was wondering if they could move to a Files Column so that you would be able to see the file is attached without needing to go into the Updates.

I could have sworn it used to do that… Testing now

Hi @dmccarthy22710, Did you find a way to do that? We are also looking for the same.

Hello @JHarrington and @YuvrajSingh ,
I’ve tested, and see that the files from the updates section are also stored in the Files gallery:

Thank you Iryna
I know they are there, but you cannot see that a file has been attached to a task without clicking into the Files Gallery. I am guessing there isn’t a way to extract the file from the updates and add it to a Files column. This makes sense since there could be multiple Files Columns on a board.
Would be great if an automation could be developed to accommodate this

The marketplace app Update Magic has a recipe that does that:

Yes, you can automate file updates from the Updates Bubble to a Files column without AI by using built-in automation tools or integrations like Zapier or Integromat (Make). Set a trigger for when a file is added or updated in the Updates Bubble, then create an action to copy or move that file link or attachment into the Files column. This approach avoids extra AI-related costs and stays within your action limits. Check if your platform supports native automation rules or simple workflows to handle this transfer efficiently without exceeding your budget or action limits.
