I’ve been watching countless tutorial videos, and I notice when clicking the first column of a board opens the item details on vertical scroll format window on the right side of the screen. Currently when I click an item, it opens a new window inside the desktop to view full details.
I was wondering why my app is behaving differently, or how I can toggle between the full window popup, and the side screen format. I hope that I am explaining this clearly.
It’s just a view within the item that you can set up. Go in, click the plus and then set it up how you’d like. I’d recommend starting with the Information section.
@AnderTran I think you are talking about the item card view. This is standard for any item. Just hover on the end of the item name field name where it says “Open” and you can open these for all of them. You can also customize what is in the item card view as well. Good luck!
Now I see it. It’s a difference between CRM and the Work Management products. I don’t use CRM so I am unfamiliar. I have requested backup from my fellow ambassadors.
Thanks Steve for clarifying that. @AnderTran I have both products and don’t know of a way to make the CRM ‘pop out’ smaller. Can I ask what your need to have the main screen still visible is from? ie do you need data from there?
Since there is so much information in the row in which you need to scroll left to right, I just thought it would be cool to see a dedicated side window which would offer a vertical scroll format getting a birds eye view of those additional fields.
I could then just work my way down the master list on the left, and tap on each record to view that additional information on the right side. It just seems so much more efficient.
If I am understanding this correctly, Monday.com has different “modes” that it can work in? And since I am using it for CRM, this is why I am not seeing this functionality? Could you please elaborate on that more?
That helps me understand, thanks! What I’d recommend is just creating an item view inside that has the info from ALL of the columns across. Then you can use the arrows at the top right to switch between rows.
It’s not ‘modes’, it’s the ‘Product’ you’re using. You have the CRM product and that is why your pop out looks different. Hope that helps!
Hi @AnderTran you can achieve something similar by creating a new blank view and adding in the table widget. There are some considerations when you do this though, as the board widget has some limitations like you can’t sort.
For us (Enterprise) this had to be enabled by our Account Rep. One thing to note about this view is that it removes [***] menu which allows users to manage notifications on a given item - really frustrating!
edit to add: the specific language in my email exchange from the rep was "feature flag I can flip on the back end to enable this view. However, it will change the behavior for everyone. " <
