Incoming form answer

hey all!

so how to i change the Incoming form answer in the board?
i want it to be one of my forms question.

i saw a lot of territorial online but setting has changed.

any advise?

Hi Itai,

Mia from monday.com support That’s an excellent question about item naming after a form submission.

To change the item name from the default “incoming form answer”, you must include a “Name” field within your form setup. The text entered into this field by the responder will then be used as the item name on your board.

Another option is to use the workflow center to rename the item once the form is submitted. ie “When item is created THEN change column value.”. I use this to combine other columns into the name.

How did you combine other column values for the new name?

I was able to set up the “change column value’“ workflow, but my only options for the new name were “Item ID” and “Group ID.”

You should see the options from the ‘Item’ underneath those.

hmm, strange–I have mine set up the same way, but my column values aren’t available. I tried testing a few different types as well (dropdown, status, text, etc.)

Update: I figured it out! I had the trigger set to “When form is submitted” – I changed the trigger to “When item created” and was able to choose from my column values.
