Integration with Sharepoint Lists and Power Automate

It would be incredibly useful to have deeper integrations with the MS365 environment beyond just sending a notification in Teams or an Outlook email.

Being able to pull data or list items from Sharepoint into Monday would be invaluable to many, I’m sure.
Also, having some linking to Power Automate, so that broader, more powerful automations could be built in that platform that could create items or change their status in Monday would be incredibly useful.

@BGonzales I will be releasing a Power Automate app in the marketplace soon (likely early August, but hopefully sooner). The app is already complete, it’s just going through Microsoft’s review process and afterwards will need to go through Monday’s review process.

It will support the following actions:

  • Create item
  • Create board
  • Create column
  • Create group
  • Create notification
  • Create sub-item
  • Create update
  • Create workspace
  • Get tags
  • Get users
  • Get items

And triggers:

  • When a column changes
  • When a new update is posted
  • When a sub-item is created
  • When a sub-item’s name changes
  • When an item is created
  • When an item’s name changes
  • When any column changes
  • When any sub-item column changes

@PluginGenie Hi,
I recently came across your response in the forums regarding the upcoming Power Automate app and wanted to reach out with a question.

I have been utilizing the existing integration between Monday.com and Power Automate, but have encountered certain limitations or issues with its functionality. I wanted to inquire whether the new Power Automate app you mentioned will address these limitations and provide a more seamless integration experience.

As someone who heavily relies on automation to streamline my workflows, I am excited about the potential of the new Power Automate app for Monday.com. I am particularly interested in understanding if it represents an improved version that addresses the previous issues or if it is a completely separate integration.

Thanks for reaching out. When you mention the existing integration between Monday.com and Power Automate, are you referring to the mondaycom connector (mondaycom (Independent Publisher) - Connectors | Microsoft Learn)?

If so, this will be a completely separate integration and will be much easier to use and have more than just the single action the current connector supports (Call GraphQL). Users won’t need to create their own GraphQL queries, which currently is something I would guess few users would know how to do.

The new integration utilizes dynamic schemas to automatically pull in the different columns monday supports (e.g. dates, locations, phone numbers, people, etc.) so that users can easily add the data for each column for an item. No code or GraphQL queries are required for users to use the integration.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Hi There,

I am currently rolling out Monday.com within our project management team and we have an internal team that is remaining on sharepoint (for now). We need to fill out a sharepoint form in order to request an engineer for an appointment and I am wondering if Mondays integrations with Sharepoint are able to automatically populate the data from our monday boards in the sharepoint form request?

Regards,
Harry

Hi @Harry.Connolly,

With the Microsoft Power Automate app, it is possible to create an item in monday.com when a sharepoint form is filled out. You would use the Sharepoint “When an item is created” trigger to specify which list to watch for new submissions. Then you would use the monday connector “Create an item” action to create an item in monday.com using the form fields that were output from the trigger.

Here’s what this flow would look like in Power Automate:

The app has a 14 day trial, so you’re welcome to try it out yourself to make sure it addresses your use case.
