Missing Columns in Monday

Hey everyone,

We started reorganizing some of our boards with connections. We duplicated some stuff that had connections, and now no one else can see the columns except for one user, the person who made the changes.

The steps we have taken:

  1. Permissions
  2. Both users are admin
  3. Made sure the mirror column includes both of our names

Now here is the really weird part. When I hit the APIs using my token from my account(granted we are both admin accounts), I dont see the columns. When I use her token it brings back both of the columns in the data for the board.

I was hoping I could get some help with this issue, I am not really sure how to back trace here and figure out a way to reset things without making a mess. Also we really don’t want to be adding every user permissions for this column when it is just a mirror column.

Thanks,

Brian Nunez

Hi Brian,

Are you able to share some screenshots?

I would initially look at the permissions for the columns on the both boards, as well as the boards themselves, and also if you have viewing permissions of the same views (i.e. you see a filtered view and not the main board). Depending on how you are setup, there could be a few causes.

You can email me if you dont want to share the screenshots - matt@frostgroup.uk

Hey Matt,

Thank you for replying!

This is her permissions for that board:

This is my permissions:

Hi Brian,

Could you show me the board column headers? There might be a restriction on there.

This usually happens because mirror columns depend on the source board’s permissions. Even if you’re both admins on the destination board, you also need access to the board where the mirrored data comes from. That’s why your API token isn’t returning the columns while hers does.

I’d recommend double-checking access to the source board, then either adjusting its permissions or recreating the mirror after confirming both accounts have access. If it still doesn’t resolve, monday.com support can reset things on the backend.
