We have a Contracts Board with the DocuSign integration added to it. The purpose is to draft contracts and then send them through the Board for signatures via DocuSign. The integration setup went fine (I signed in to DocuSign, added the 4 columns required: email, last envelope status, and last updated). It looks great and can save a lot of time.
But when we send a contract for signatures through an item, it works fine. The PROBLEM is when the DocuSign API sends info back to Monday.com. If there are multiple items in the Contracts board with the same email in the “Email” field, the envelop status will trigger on ALL the items in that Board’s. See screenshot.
Our issue is that our CFO must sign ALL contracts. Anyone have any work arounds or suggestions to update the pre-built automation template to change this behavior?
I’m afraid i don’t have any solutions to your issue, but I just wanted to jump in and say we have had very limited success with Docusign API sending back the envelope status at all, so it is interesting that yours does seem to be working, albeit not in the way you were hoping! No matter how many times we have added the docusign columns into Monday, they never populate with the information. Though opening the docusign tab within the item does show if an envelope has been delivered/ viewed/ signed etc. and we regularly use the docusign connection to create and send envelopes out via Monday with the contract files generated inside monday.
I don’t think there is a solution with in Monday services.
You could try to build your own automation with something like Zapier or MAKE and the docuSign API:
You just need to setup a webhook in DocuSign and listen for the event when a document is signed. Then you need to use the doc name or some other identifactor, send an API call to the Monday board and find the item using the string you retrieved in DocuSign.
This should allow you to change the status only for that one item that was signed with docuSign.
I have good news! We’re releasing e-signatures as a new feature in DocuGen starting next week. With DocuGen Sign you get the assurance of legally-admissible signatures thanks to a tamper-proof digital seal (like DocuSign):
Populate documents from board data
Send documents to multiple signers
Automate document sending using automations
We’re granting access to DocuGen Sign early adopters as soon as next week (10 June.) If you would like access, please fill out this form:
