Using the Workload widget in a dashboard allows me to see if some of my team members are over-allocated in a given time period. But that is based on assigned tasks in the respective project boards.
I’ve been trying to find a way, though, to visualize workload based on maximum time allocations at the project level. For example. Alice is working on three projects, and each individual project board has a Workload widget that specifies her capacity for that project, let’s say 4, 8, and 16 hours weekly respectively. I want my dashboard Workload widget to combine those capacity numbers and give me that 28-hour number against a total weekly capacity of 40. Is this possible? Or, is there another way to see this?
While you won’t be able to add up the hours exactly as you described, I’m wondering if perhaps utilizing a formula column in the “effort” setting of the Workload widget could be a good alternative!
You could enter these capacities (4, 8, 16, etc) in numbers columns on a board and add them in a formula column and then select this formula column in the Workload widget.
What do you think about this idea? Let me know your thoughts and we can go from there!
