I know it’s been said before, but just wondering if there will be an update in the future that allows mirrored columns to be seen in shared boards? From reading other posts, it looks like this is something other users may also like to see.
It currently looks as though this can’t be done due to security concerns, but only showing specific columns of a master board as opposed to sharing the full board itself is a security issue in and of itself (at least in our company!).
There are a few topics related to our mirror column and connect boards column, so I did just want to clarify my understanding to ensure we are on the same page To confirm, are you referring to displaying mirror columns through a public link/shared view - for example as mentioned in this existing request here?
Hi, I too have 2 boards in the same workspace that are shared externally. In this case to my personal email address for testing. I am sharing these with a vendor. In my instance I don’t care that my vendor has access to both boards and granted them access.
Board 1 has mirror columns from Board 2. Both boards are visible externally. Mirror columns are still not visible on Board 1 externally.
Internally this functions correctly. I give one of my colleagues access to both boards as a member and they see the mirror column. Just not the external users. To me this is a bug.
Now what I have seen lots of discussions on is we don’t want to share board 2 externally because it contains sensitive columns. We only want to share board 1 externally along with the mirror columns. I can understand this request too.
My question is why aren’t mirror columns working the same externally as they are internally?
Edit: Contacted support because this didn’t seem right. Turns out it should have worked as I described it. There was a glitch with my connected board. When we added another connected board column with a mirror column I could see that externally. I removed permission from the board that I was mirroring from and the columns disappeared externally. Added permission back, and it reappeared. Not sure why my connection glitched out like that.
