When item is created take value from column from another board

Hello everyone!

I’m searching for a solution for an automation that I want to create but it seems i can find it…

I have two boards. On board A I have a simple database with a unique number and an owner.

On board B I have client requests. I want to set-up an automation so When an Item is created on Board B take the next unconnected item from Board A and conect it to the new item and then mirror the column Order Reference.

I have seen the prebuilt automation that monday provides but this need you to mach a column before conecting. I don’t have any data to match I just want to take the value from a column to Board A and paste it to the Board B while conecting these two items.

Welcome to the community! To my knowledge there is not a native way in Monday.com to automatically connect without matching criteria.

You could pay for some third party apps that would allow you to match (possibly), but what might help is having a number assigned on one end and another number on the other end to help with matching. Just a simple numbers column on Board A going 1,2,3… and then assigning a number on Board B to trigger the match.

I agree with Jai-Lynn. Your objective makes sense. But you will need to go outside base monday to do that.

One way to accomplish that would be to create a Make scenario. Depending on your volumn, you might be able to get away with the free level.
