Yes! I had to add their “dev” product, and then all the boards started having the “Group By” function. The function has stayed since the dev product trial expired.
Thank you so much - definitely worth a try!!
I would be happy to have this group by functionality, it would make boards much more flexible and dynamic.
Is there any feature request on that subject ? I don’t see any.
Does the “dev” product a separate pricing plan? Or can anyone add it to the plan they are on? If the latter, how does one do that?
Dev is a paid product, but you can start a free trial (14 days I think), after which you won’t have access to it anymore. But as mentioned, you get to keep the “Group By” function even after the trial has ended.
thank you!!! Game changing if this works.
Any updates here on when this will be implemented for all users?
13 months later, and still hoping this function will be released soon, it removes a lot of workarounds, and makes boards more dynamic and easy to use.
Our company has been disappointed to see so many features at Monday either hidden behind a pay wall or just absent. Dynamic grouping is a basic feature that is available with all of Monday’s competition. You actually accomplish dynamic grouping via automations now but that will count against your monthly automation “allowance” (ridiculous).
I was actually on SmartSuite till my organization decides to switch to Monday. The Group By function is a DEFAULT and BASIC function in SmartSuite… ;(
Upvoted!!! This would be so helpful!
Any update here?
I managed to obtain something similar through creating a Kanban view from a table and tick the Split View in the Kanban view which shows a table with dynamic grouping at the bottom and then if you create a new table view while still being in the Kanban View, the new table will have the same grouping. The problem is that I cant figure out how Monday.com is selecting the column on which the grouping is done and I can
t select another one.
While still hoping for an update on this and the dynamic grouping to be added to the normal product, I must say that I`m quite dissapointed that it looks like different clients have different features available while paying for the same product. The only difference is activating something while it was in testing and then it remained in their account. Not to mention that the feature was made available in another product…
Hope that Monday.com team will realise that this is the kind of thing that make their clients getting annoyed and start looking at alternatives as it`s all about the way they approach the situation.
*Cards view not Kanban view
I managed to obtain something similar through creating a Cards view from a table and tick the Split View in the Cards view which shows a table with dynamic grouping at the bottom and then if you create a new table view while still being in the Cards View, the new table will have the same grouping.
@BogdanCodarcea How do you tick the Split View. In Settings I can only see Cards Cover and Card Columns.
Hi Joan,
I have the split view option at the right bottom side of the page under the Display settings as highlighted in the image. Hope it helps
Darn, I do not have this option. Maybe I am on a different version. We only have Pro Version and not Enterprise.
Thank you.
When deciding whether to go with monday.com or a different software, not having this feature made my decision for me. This is something that should come out of the box.
Agree this is basic required functionality for the end user in a work management platform
Why isn’t such a basic feature offered in the base software? What a nightmare.
