How much longer is this going to be put off?
Happy to announce that the ability to have items to live on multiple boards is now LIVE as a feature of VLOOKUP auto-link app one of monday most trusted apps in the marketplace. With this new feature you can have same item in multiple boards (andits updates, sub items and more) just by selecting item or multiple items and copy and sync item to multiple boards - Two way sync!
See how it works below or install it free from the marketplace!
Hi community! Thank you for your continued feedback on the ability for items to live seamlessly across multiple boards. We understand the importance of this feature and it most definitely remains part of our vision for the future.
While it’s not currently on the long-term roadmap, it is being actively considered for next year as we explore ways to support more advanced use cases. In the meantime, there’s a great app available in the marketplace called ‘Same Item Multiple Boards’ that could serve as a helpful workaround for this need!
We truly value your input - it plays a key role in shaping our platform. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as plans progress!
When?! We know there are apps capable to do it…after years requesting this and knowing that external companies can do it…why Monday.com still do not have it in the roadmap?
Hi @cabanasr. I am curious: Have you tried the Marketplace solutions for this? I get that we all want everything to be include natively in Monday, but as a developer, I’m trying to understand the thought process other Monday customers go through when they evaluate Marketplace solutions as a “bridge” strategy until popular enhancement requests are added to Monday.
This has been requested since 2022 and your team decided to push it to next year? That’s unfortunate. Same Item Multiple Boards costs a lot of money for bigger orgs…
And this is a really valid point
Hi Amy, This feature has been requested for three years and is ranked first for views and third for replies, with the top two already released. It’s clear the community really wants these features. What is the point of this community space, if you continue to disregard you customers request for less favourable options.
I’m exploring Monday to see if switching from Asna is a wise choice. But without this capability… It’s a NO-NO to do transition; moreover, if you have to pay extra for something so basic!
Same Item Multiple Boards allows you more flexibility than it might look. As opposed to Asana/clickup, with the Same Item Multiple Boards app you can:
- Share subitems as regular items on a different board
- Choose if you want subitems to sync or not
- Choose if you want updates to sync(creating a 1-way updates direction, or no sync at all)
- Choose if you want updates to sync only to a specific board (and not all boards)
- Build automations around adding the same item to another board(for example, when status changes to done → add the same item to another board)
Those features are not available on other platforms, and you get to use monday with all of its other great features.
I hope that helps ![]()
We would love to have this feature. This is quite important to our business and it’s been dragged for years now. Can we have an ETA?
Hey everyone!
Managing and syncing column information seamlessly between multiple boards can be quite challenging. So we developed a super easy solution!

I had somehow missed this update - it’s not a valid workaround if the solution relies on a third-party app which simply cannot be used in many companies, including mine. It’s all good that the team is exploring more advanced use cases, but a basic, cupcake version of this which addresses the basic user request should definitely be on the roadmap.
I agree! Asking customers to buy something else is not a valid solution to the problem.
Same Item Multiple Boards is SOC2 compliant ![]()
I appreciate that - but we can’t use any third-party apps, regardless of their compliance status or price, so we’ll have to rely on monday to listen to the user community and consider implementing this feature.
While this solution is a great option, it is quite costly and should be a basic feature offered by Monday.com. Have you expanded your free option for Same Item Multiple Boards?
Hi Jeff. Thanks for answering. Nevertheless it’s always the same…we have to pay for basic functionalities. In addition, corporate policy prevent us to use market place (with few exceptions). To try to use Marketplace makes working with Monday a constant fight with our IT colleagues.
Hi everyone! Thank you for continuing to share your thoughts–it’s clear this feature is important to many of you, and we want to acknowledge that. While it’s not currently on our roadmap, priorities do shift over time as the Product team balances between improving existing features, building new ones, and enhancing overall platform stability.
Although there’s no update to share at this time, we encourage you to check out the workarounds shared in the thread, like Same Item Multiple Boards, Connected Boards Automations, MultiBoard Items, Kanbanify, Item Sync, Mirror Item Multiple Boards, and VLOOKUP Auto-Link.
We know these won’t be a perfect fit for every workflow, but they might help bridge the gap in the meantime. We’ll continue to keep you all posted here as things progress.
Hey everyone! ![]()
I’ve been following this thread since we faced the exact same challenge - needing items to exist on multiple boards without the manual update nightmare.
We actually built an app specifically for this use case. Mirror Item Multiple Boards lets you:
- Keep one item synced across unlimited boards
- Update anywhere, changes reflect everywhere instantly
- Add subitems, comments, and files in the sync
- Exclude certain columns
- See live sync status in using the sync table feature
How it works: You just select an item, choose which boards to mirror it to, and that’s it. Any updates sync automatically in real-time.
You don’t have to manually link anything. Our app automatically checks for common columns and syncs those. A critical feature that we have is to exclude certain common columns from syncing -
- To give you an example, you could have the same item live on multiple boards with different names for each (if you exclude the name column).
Since we just launched, we’re offering 50% off yearly plans for early adopters (around $18/month).
